Telling the vibrant transformation of Borgo Castello fostered by the Bando Borghi and the vision of tomorrow’s Rastello Street that La Via del Borgo – the Cluster 1 created as partofthe Project “A THOUSAND YEARS OF HISTORY AT THE CENTER OF EUROPE: BORGO CASTELLO CROCEVIA OF PEOPLES AND CULTURES,” funding PNRR – Next Generation EU PNRR M1C3 Mis. 2 Invest. 2.1 line A – is promoting through multiple urban regeneration initiatives.
How? Through six special showcases that Confcommercio Gorizia, the leader of the La Via del Borgo cluster, is setting up at the Bottega del Cappello and at the premises located at No. 2 Via delle Monache. Showcases that will be unveiled on Saturday, August 24, starting at 6 p.m., at a cultural and food and wine event – promoted and hosted by Casa Krainer in the charming former hardware store at No. 43 Rastello Street – which will bring art, music, stories and flavors of the area to Borgo Castello.
Confcommercio Gorizia thus plans an extraordinary opening of the Hat Shop, which has become thanks to the Borghi Call for Action the operational center of the La Via del BorGO cluster. A place to write a new narrative for Borgo Castello and the city, thanks in part to the complicity of six special showcases to be entrusted with a story: “Once upon a time-uh no! There will be soon and some‘ Already there is, on Rastello Street, a vibrant new transformation.”
A narrative articulated through six storefronts – The temporary set-up, already in progress, affects three windows of the store at No. 52 Via Rastello, an information point of Confcommercio Gorizia, and three windows of the premises located at No. 2 Via delle Monache, currently unused. The goal is to pay tribute to Rastello Street and the process of change and regeneration in which it is now a protagonist. The staff of Confcommercio Gorizia, in collaboration with the very young creative from Gorizia, Teresa Trovato, will offer a colorful display that connects the windows of both spaces through small elements made from various materials (such as paper and cardboard) and decorations directly created on the windows with tempera and colors suitable for glass.
The Bottega del Cappello’s storefronts had already been themed for the opening of Borgo Cinema, a cluster whose headquarters is located right across the street from La Vai del Borgo’s store: a welcome to its “neighbors” in the context of an urban regeneration also promoted thanks to the visual merchandising skills of the presidio staff at 52 Rastello Street.
The Rastello Street of Tomorrow – “The goal is to tell one of our visions for the Rastello Street of tomorrow: colorful spaces full of vibrancy and new inspiration,” explains Monica Paoletich, Director of Confcommercio Gorizia. “A vision that in the regeneration process triggered by the Bando Borghi already finds tangible concreteness. The six storefronts dialogue through the appearance of recurring elements, such as a red line that joins the storefronts and symbolizes the “way” of change taking place (“The Way of the BorGO,” precisely) or words that in the movement follow the same sinuous line of the way. But hints of this change can also be recognized in the windows of No. 2 Nun’s Street, where illuminated lanterns are already appearing among seemingly quieter stores. The Boroughs Call is a set of important, medium-term interventions: not all actions are immediately visible, but they will lead to lasting regeneration, the first signs of which can already be seen. The Via del BorGO – marked by the Cluster of which we are the leader – and our showcases, want to convey just that.”
Scents, music, colors, lights and magic: Rastello Street always has many voices, but on August 24 the atmosphere will be more special than usual.
