The Via del BorGO is one of the outputs of the Pilot Project called “One Thousand Years of History at the Center of Europe: Borgo Castello Crossroads of Peoples and Cultures” under Measure 2 Component 3 Culture 4.0. (M1C3) – Investment 2.1. line A of the NRP, funded under the EU Next Generation Strategy for the cultural, social and economic regeneration of abandoned and neglected villages at risk.

The resources were allocated through a Call for Proposals by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region – Directorate for Culture, reserved for entities that participated in 2021 in the Municipality of Gorizia ‘s notice of expression of interest for cultural regeneration projects in relation to the Borgo Castello Pilot Project, and the subsequent procedure, with proposals for the revitalization of the socio-economic fabric of Borgo Castello, to be implemented by June 2026.

The more than 20 eligible interventions have been reorganized into thematic Clusters: Cluster 1, led by Confcommercio Imprese per l’Italia of the Province of Gorizia, includes the projects of the QuiAltrove Association, Chiara Canzoneri’s Bottega Gastronomica and Fabrizia Perco’s Bottega Artigiana, the jazz and solidarity wines of the Il Mosaico Social Cooperative Consortium, and the social innovation co-working of Netural Impresa Sociale, which also brings to Gorizia the experience of Matera European Capital of Culture.
