Yesterday morning, Confcommercio Gorizia brought its testimony on participation in the PNRR Bando Borghi to Rome during a webinar organized by Confcommercio entitled “The state of implementation of the PNRR and the role of representations. Report 2025 on the Monitoring of Public Projects for the Territorial Economy.”
Speaking was Confcommercio Gorizia Director Monica Paoletich, who explained the steps that led to the trade association’s involvement in the urban and cultural regeneration project of Via Rastello and Borgo Castello in Gorizia through the La Via del BorGO cluster.
“Our participation in the PNRR Bando Borghi and the results obtained so far have aroused much interest in Confcommercio at the national level, so much so that we have asked our section for a testimonial on the progress of the project in which we are at the forefront at the Bottega del Cappello. A place that has become a second home for us and where every day the many-voiced tale of the ancient city and Gorizia as a destination of choice comes to life,” Paoletich comments.
The Bottega del Cappello at 52 Rastello Street in Gorizia – A commitment that finds a home in the city’s oldest street, more precisely at the Bottega del Cappello at 52 Rastello Street, a former hat store set up by Confcommercio Gorizia as an information and storytelling point for visitors and citizens. Indeed, since spring 2024 La Bottega del Cappello has been welcoming those who visit Via Rastello and Borgo Castello, providing information on what to see and where to eat in the city and telling about the activities planned in Gorizia, intercepting the needs and expectations of visitors and citizens in the year of the European Capital of Culture with a look beyond 2025.
A Bottega in the ancient city, with different functions: a project and coworking space, a meeting and relationship place, but above all a Bottega del Racconto. With 100 weeks and more than 3 thousand hours open to the public, at the end of the project (June 2026) the Bottega of Confcommercio Gorizia aims to tell at least 10 thousand city users about the borough.
Initiatives designed for a new use of urban spaces – A narrative that sees the trade association in the midst of its journey, with initiatives such as walks through Borgo Castello designed to offer citizens and visitors relaxing moments to discover the village, its history and its artistic and architectural beauty. One example is the recent edition of “Voices of Via Rastello,” the headphone walk for which you can get on the list for upcoming events by writing to info@laviadelborgo.eu.
But that’s not all: the month of July will see Confcommercio Gorizia starring in an initiative of new use of urban spaces designed to celebrate Gorizia’s tradition and embellish the village with four thematic benches customized by local artists. The “Narrating Benches” – this is their name – will be places to stop and art, but also to discover the history of Borgo Castello thanks to a special QR Code. An invitation, for those who live in or visit the city, to immerse themselves in its history and beauty.
