
We had left off on the low arched prothyrum of the little church of the Holy Spirit; this time, if you look up to the right before entering, you will notice a figure covered by a large cloak. She is Maria Bella of Castelpagano (the coat of arms on which she stands says so!), wife of Michele Rabatta.
The pose of the newlyweds meant that, at an unspecified time, the two were transformed into the Archangel Gabriel and the Virgin, recreating the scene of the Annunciation. Michael Rabatta was even given wings, which were later removed in the 1988 restoration!
