Dec. 14: Michele Rabatta on the prothyrum of the little church of St. Spirit

Welcoming us at the entrance to the small church of Santo Spirito in Arce is Michele Rabatta, a nobleman of Tuscan origin who in 1398, together with his brother Giovanni, commissioned the construction of this sacred building, the oldest in the city!
To see it properly we have to look up at the hanging porch that anticipates the actual entrance: it stands there on the left, above the shield with his family’s coat of arms, and placed in profile, its presence alone is incomplete. And in fact on the right is another character, a woman we will talk about when we open another box!
