Perhaps you have already guessed that the Gorizia Cathedral is full of enchanting surprises!
This time we are on the right of the chancel, in the chapel of St. Acacius, under a wonderful vault whose ribs draw like a complex star pattern. The spaces bounded by them were entirely frescoed in the 15th century, by an unknown artist, with symbols of the Evangelists and musician angels. These are perhaps the oldest frescoes still preserved in Gorizia!
