Presented the actions that concretize the daily commitment in the enogastronomic enhancement of the territory and its flavors that Confcommercio carries out inside and outside project

A press conference was held today at the Bottega del Cappello in Via Rastello to present a series of contents and activities devised by Confcommercio Gorizia to tell the story of the territory from the point of view of its food and wine traditions.
A series of initiatives with in common the daily commitment of the trade association, especially through its FIPE Confcommercio Gorizia group representing all associated public establishments, in the enhancement of the territory and its flavors. A commitment, however, that translates first and foremost into service and that increasingly aspires to make Gorizia and its area a welcoming destination.

The initiatives

The contents presented by Confcommercio Gorizia specifically concern:
– a printed matter for which the emblematic title “A Taste of Gorizia. Tale for GOlosi,” as part of the PNRR Bando Borghi, designed to enrich the food and wine tale in public establishments and beyond, where it will be available free of charge;

– the story of the initiatives conceived through La Via del BorGO always within the framework of the PNRR Bando Borghi: in fact, special Christmas cards with illustrations created by The Gorizianer and a free bag with the same image will be available at the Gorizia Christmas Market.

– the new, updated and expanded edition of the “Eating in Gorizia” map, produced thanks to the support of Banca 360 FVG, which measures the city’s offerings and its broad capacity to accommodate even in view of the important challenge represented by GO!2025 (and soon to cross city borders);

The map Eating in Gorizia – The map will be an updated and expanded edition, in which it is possible to find the contacts of establishments in the world of catering: all Confcommercio Gorizia members of course, but also some establishments that are not yet members but that during 2024 have accepted the coordination proposals promoted by the association, helping to network and build an increasingly organic and positive image of the city’s offerings. For each will be indicated service hours and contacts, seating numbers, the possible presence of outdoor spaces and the area of belonging with respect to the distance from the center: more than 80 points where to eat in the city, with kitchen or without, for a total of more than 3500 indoor and more than 3000 outdoor seats.
A tale for GOlosi – The printed matter made under the PNRR Bando Borghi, tells about the tradition and food and wine culture of the area. Inside you can find brief insights into more representative dishes and eating habits, such as goulash, fried foods, the ever-present Rosa di Gorizia, as well as Collio wines and traditional desserts. The chosen tool, a “light” foldable, produced in both Italian and English, was conceived-as the title suggests-as “A Taste of Gorizia,” with the intention of facilitating managers perhaps less accustomed to telling an increasingly tourist audience about products and reminding Gorizians that habits we take somewhat for granted-such as an aperitif at the counter tasting excellent wines or a culinary tradition full of tasty contaminations-represent an added value to be continually enhanced.
The Little House at the Christmas Market – Confcommercio Gorizia will also be present at the Christmas Market promoted by the Venezia Giulia Chamber of Commerce, scheduled to take place at the Public Gardens on Corso Verdi in Gorizia from December 12 to 24, and will be a place to meet and share, in the full spirit that is animating La Bottega del Cappello on Rastello Street: precisely at the Little House there will be moments of storytelling about La Via del BorGO and its initiatives in Borgo Castello. Christmas cards with images created exclusively by The Gorizianer and a bag with the same image will also be distributed at the market to enhance the Gorizianer’s strennae and publicize the activities promoted by Confcommercio Gorizia under the PNRR Bando Borghi that are enlivening Christmas on Rastello Street.
Statements – GIANLUCA MADRIZ, PRESIDENT CONFCOMMERCIO GORIZIA: “The goal of our trade association is to support and enhance member entrepreneurs and the potential of our territory. When we talk about local food and wine, of course we start at an advantage. But on the other hand, it is a very tiring sector, and crushed by everyday life it is less easy to make an effort even to do things together: so I thank the FIPE board for this commitment, also and not only in view of the GO!2025 challenge.”
ROBERTO GAJER, FIPE CONFCOMMERCIO GORIZIA GROUP LEADER: “Today’s presentation is the fruit of a great deal of work that starts from afar. First of all, from the daily contact with our network of Members, true protagonists with the quality of their products and commitment to their service. The map Mangiare a Gorizia (Eating in Gorizia) and the leaflet made with Fuocolento represent a way to immerse and orient ourselves in the food and wine of our territory. Our presence at the Christmas Market with the Little House of Confcommercio Gorizia will be an opportunity to get in touch with people and tell them about the excellence of the products of our territory. A way to network: both with our entrepreneurs and with the community.”
MONICA PAOLETICH, DIRECTOR CONFCOMMERCIO GORIZIA: “The initiatives presented this morning represent a further and concrete contribution to the narrative that is the red thread not only of our commitment here but in the entire Confcommercio Gorizia program for the territory. A narrative that we like to call minute in order to make Gorizia and its territory a destination to be chosen above all because of the beauty of things: daily quality products, a kaleidoscope of traditions, an urban regeneration built day after day above all through relationships and storytelling that we hope everyone will increasingly want to appropriate. And that seems to be the case given the sell-out recorded by our Advent walks program, the daily accesses and interactions with our calendar and its unlock-memory boxes, and the free press La Via del BorGO that is literally going down the drain in the city businesses that help us distribute it!”

The "Taste" tells about the tradition and food and wine culture of the area. Inside you can find brief insights into more representative dishes and eating habits, such as goulash, fried foods, the ever-present Rosa di Gorizia, as well as Collio wines and traditional desserts. The chosen tool, a "light" foldable, produced in both Italian and English, was conceived-as the title suggests-as "A Taste of Gorizia," with the intention of facilitating managers perhaps less accustomed to telling an increasingly tourist audience about products and reminding Gorizians that habits we take somewhat for granted-such as an aperitif at the counter tasting excellent wines or a culinary tradition full of tasty contaminations-represent an added value to be continually enhanced.
