Fresh off the press and available free of charge at Bottega del Cappello is the second issue of the printed periodical “La Via del BorGO” produced by Confcommercio Gorizia as part of the PNRR Bando Borghi and whose contents are edited by Caterina Trovato, Angelica Stasi, Lodovica Gaia Stasi and Valentina Randazzo.
After the first issue dedicated to the history of Gorizia and Borgo Castello, here is the second issue dedicated to Gorizia Christmas with many historical and food and wine curiosities. Monica Paoletich, Director of Confcommercio Gorizia, presents it this way:
“We were excited about the first issue and we are even more excited about this Christmas edition under the banner of tradition and curiosity. We chose to tell about Gorizia’s Christmas traditions, the typical recipes that marked our childhood and continue to mark the Advent season, but also some curiosities about Gorizia’s ancient crafts. This is a story that picks up the legacy of Associazione via Rastello, which with its birth at Christmas time 2020 marked the beginning of the new season of activities on Rastello Street. I don’t want to give too much away though, so we’ll be waiting for you in the store to deliver your copy in person and wish us a Merry Christmas!”
What to find in the Christmas issue – Leafing through the periodical will immerse you in old Gorizia customs, old-time nursery rhymes and songs, and Christmas Eve table settings with special tasty recipes. So the St. Andrew’s fair with its scent of pancakes, mastelùt, St. Nicholas gifts and tales about the Spadone Mass, the ancient tradition of Christmas cards and much more could not be missed.
Advent on social media at La Via del BorGO – Lots of trivia – surprising and fun – also delved into thanks to the Advent calendar displayed in the window at the Hat Shop. Each day’s opening window gives a little anecdote about Gorizia’s tradition and history, which you can learn more about on La Via del BorGO’s social channels and on laviadelborgo.eu.
A way to give and receive a smile at a long-awaited time of year, in that community spirit typical of a village that shares moments and emotions. Also through social media, where the invitation is to take a photo with the newspaper under your arm and tag @laviadelborgo_ on Instagram.
A special bookmark – In addition, it will be possible to cut out a special bookmark containing a photo with a glimpse of Beny Kosic’s village on the front and five Christmas tips on the back.
Where to find the periodical “La Via del BorGO” – As mentioned, the free press is distributed free of charge at the Hat Shop, both in Italian and English, as well as at the Christmas Market at the Public Gardens on Corso Verdi: those who pick it up at the Confcommercio Gorizia Casetta will also receive a welcome surprise.
