Dec. 5: The coat of arms of the Counts of Gorizia

You’ve probably seen this coat of arms somewhere before!
It is the coat of arms of the Counts of Gorizia and consists of silver-red bands and a gold rampant lion on a blue background.
This particular one is a detail from a Görzeraltar door, dated 1500-1510 and preserved in Lienz at Bruck Castle. You may not know, however, that a copy of the doors of this altar is also preserved here in Gorizia: they are located inside the castle, but we will not tell you more! It is up to you to find the work!
