The characteristic peasant hat(ciapèl largh) made of black-dyed kid hair was adorned with a dark blue-green ribbon fastened by a metal buckle, with the brim of the brim lined and the cord barbed in gray. The width of the thirteen-centimeter flap weighed more than two hundred and ninety grams.
On this occasion, the hatmakers Nicolò Mighetti (1740-1764), whose descendants kept a renowned hat shop in Piazza Grande (now Piazza Vittoria) until 1906, and Gasparo Droc, of whom there are also records since 1764, are worth mentioning.
